My Abuelo once said the sea perfectly depicts human life, the way we cruise through our lives, allowing the currents to take us in. We're constantly collecting new experiences while losing some in the process. Loss takes place in many forms, like memory; grief is cumulative. When we grieve, we don't experience something singular instead, we go through the cycle of sharing the sum of all our woes. Like ghost nets, we reach the point of feeling experiences being forgotten, lost, or abandoned at sea. While the ghost net drifts, it slowly collects all things lost at sea, experiences, emotions, and memories, taking form in bottles. It all becomes nothing but a ghost net encasing bottles that once were so much more.
