Filo is a flat-packed chair that explores the structural potential of tension. Using a fishing net as its primary support system, the design challenges conventional seating by integrating flexible yet durable materials with a minimal MDF frame. The interplay between rigidity and elasticity allows the chair to adapt to the user’s weight while maintaining structural integrity. Inspired by principles of lightweight construction and collapsibility, Filo is designed for easy assembly and disassembly, reducing material waste and enhancing portability. Its name, meaning “thread” or “edge” in Spanish, reflects both the woven nature of its support and the fine balance it strikes between tension and structure.
